Tower of glass
A glass-clad building in Colliers Wood containing 150 flats is scheduled for completion in 2017.
It replaces the derelict former Brown & Root tower, voted the
capital’s ugliest building in a 2006 BBC poll. Planning permission for the project was granted by Merton Council in 2011.
Along with the new apartments, the regeneration of Colliers Wood Tower by developer Criterion Capital will deliver a series of shops on the ground floor as well as a public plaza fronting the underground station.
A planning application for phase two is expected in 2017.
